Stress pot

Current music: Genie - Girls Generation

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I cut my hair. :D

It's been a hectic week.

Work. Presentations. Responsibilities. Relationships. Commitments. It all sums up into one thing - PRESSURE.

And I fell off the stairs too. Mom says falling is an annual thing for me - once a year, at least. Bruises on my arms and lower back, and wounds on my right arm and both my knees. GREAT, right? I even wrecked my laptop.

But you see, out of all these nasty things, good things came then after. I'm currently resting for the weekend at my uncle's. No assignments, no people to disturb me - just me and my old laptop, fixed and ready to accompany me for the weekend. ;)

Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks' favourite verse has inspired me and spoken to me throughout this few days of (supposed) torture and suffering. (LOL.):

"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." - Romans 5:3-5
To tell you the truth, when all those bad things happened to me, I was really crushed. I was sad. I was depressed, to be exact. I didn't feel like eating, and I felt like my whole world was going to end that moment.

My dad told me, "You know, this is the first time I've seen you stressed out in 21 years."

WAY TO GO DAD. @_@ LOL!~

Well, it's in some way, rather true. Before this week's fall-off-the-stairs drama, I had some breathing difficulties a week back (I still suffer from it but no matter). When I told my mom my symptoms, she said it was similar to what she experienced before - stress. I was like, ME - STRESSED???? You gotta be kidding me. Little did I know that my mom was right.

My fall-off-the-stairs accident was enough to prove that I was too stressed out and I needed to take a break.

And thus here I am, slacking off, writing a blogpost, reading Galaxieblog, listening to Kpop and drooling over Korean hunks. LOL! :P

So, the lesson I learned is to well, take things one step a time. And, work is never easy. I've never heard anyone say, "Hey, working is so EASY!" thus far. If you hate your job, you still need to do it to earn a living. And if you love you job, you still need to do it to earn a living. So...

DO IT, and SMILE. :)

And I forgot to mention about what happened all these disasters. The Lord was teaching me a few things. One, to know that there are people who love me beside me. My laptop got wrecked together with my fall, so I texted this friend who has 2 laptops. She immediately said yes to my request and told me to use her laptop till my laptop gets fixed. Thanks girl. :') And another friend gave me a ride to the clinic, while the other two accompanied me there. The others held me up when I was broken, and told me to not give up and it's okay - that everything was gonna be all right. My mentor was worried, and even asked me to pay the doc a visit to make sure I was okay. Thank you Lord, for loving me, and also giving me people who love me despite how bad I may sometimes be.

Two, my laptop got fixed and I am now having a great relaxing weekend at my uncle's. After I realized my laptop was wrecked, a distressed me gave my dad a call and he later asked me to give my uncle a call. My uncle asked me to show him my laptop, so I went to his house. And so here I am, typing away in his house, in his study where there's this cool Disney Pixar character lamp staring at me while I work this blog. :D

Awesome God You are, Lord Jesus. :) Thank you for Your love.

Another verse to bless your day people. :)

"When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider this:
God has made the one
as well as the other.
Therefore, no one can discover
anything about their future."
- Ecclesiastes 7:14

Much love and many blessings,
Rachel.

P/S: Happy be-early Valentines to those who have a Valentine. I'm currently running for FOREVER ALONE club president, if you know what I mean. LOL! Hopefully Prince Charming shows up this year? :P
